G. Rodríguez: “Valencia CF is a demanding club with a lot of history, and I’ve come to try to contribute to the team”
First statements from the new Valencia CF midfielder
Argentine midfielder Guido Rodríguez speaks to VCF Media after signing for Valencia CF. In his interview, the player from Sáenz Peña shows great motivation and eagerness to play for the Valencia-based club.
Arrival at Valencia CF
“I’m very happy to be here. My motivation was to join a demanding club, which I know Valencia CF are, with a lot of history, and I’ve come to try to add value and contribute to the club”.
Position and playing style
“I’ve always played in midfield. I try to stay well organized to understand how the match is unfolding and to recognize that not all games are the same. I also try to defend, help the center backs, play with the ball, and make sure the team is proactive”.
Atmosphere at Mestalla
“I experienced it when I came here to play, and in recent matches I’ve been following it closely. I know what this fan base is like, how demanding it is with the team, and that’s important so the squad responds on the pitch and we all move forward together. The fans are like one more player and you feel them on the field. I really like the atmosphere- it's a motivation for any footballer. I love stepping onto the pitch and hearing the fans demanding, singing, encouraging us… it’s something very special.”
Lucas Beltrán
“He spoke very highly of Valencia CF. I’m looking forward to us being here together and doing things well.”
Aimar and Ayala
“I know them. With Pablo, when I was coming through at River Plate, he returned to play and we shared the dressing room. Later, they were my coaches with the Argentine national team. Being here is something very special. I used to watch them play here when I was a kid, and I have many memories of watching Aimar- an incredible player. Wearing this shirt is special.”
Message to the fans
“Thank you very much for how you’ve made me feel even before arriving in Valencia. What will never be lacking is hard work and high standards from myself. I’m sure that both I and the entire group will give our best to finish the season in the best possible way, all together.”
